Vegan Fitness

CHARLY. 20 years old. vegan. fashion journalist. stylist. fitness freak and lover of life.

Semi day off…

2 hours of yoga and pilates done and its not even 8am! No sleep ins for me  and i love it! I’m always so much more productive and at peace when i rise early and start my day off right :)

Now its nom time…..Oatmeal with Cinnamon <3

So i haven’t been doing great with my healthy/clean eating lately, fell flat on my face a good couple of times but i think i have found the root of the problem and i stopping right now!

Today will now be Day 1 <3

Sober

12 days of being sober again!

After the first week its so easy. Even though last night i had to take some clients/buyers out for ‘work’ drinks, i took them to my friends bar LOOP and made sure i ordered. Its a very strange interaction when you take clients out for work drinks because if you dont drink with them they feel offended OR they think youre an ex-alcoholic and become very awkward.

By making sure i ordered at the bar (also being polite) i was able to tell my friend to give me a sparkling water with some lemon in it, a very good little trick because it can be disguised as a vodka and soda :)

Sneaky Charly winning!

Noms on the go

Awesome little snackage. Five bean mix (protein+complex carb heaven) with some juicy cherry tomatoes. Super refreshing and perfect to take to work with me :)

Afternoon off work.

This equals a very happy Charly :D

Just went to the Queen Victoria Market (since i live right next to it!) and got some fresh produce and stocked up on some much needed food. I’m still shocked at how cheap it is, i swear i go there numerous times and week and i still cannot believe it!

On my list:
Seitan
Tempeh
Tofu
Soy milk

Bok choy
Broccoli
Asparagus
Broccolini
Enoki Mushrooms
Spinach
Apples

All this cost me less than 25$, people that use the excuse that living healthy is to expensive and seriously just trying to put the blame on someone else, because all this will last me the rest of the week easily.

Cooking dinner for my man tonight, he is usually the master chef around here but he has to train some people tonight so ill have to wear the cooking hat and attempt to wow him……

WISH ME LUCK!

Protein Nudge.

This is my vegan ‘chocolate’ protein powder :) nom nom

Iv tried and tested the vanilla one before, not really a fan.

I like to have this as a treat when iv got a sweet craving, also adds to be protein goals. Wins all round i say

Day 6/64: coffee addict

So

This is me, welcome to my face, and set into my world of coffee addiction (if you aren’t already in our own addictive cycle).

I am a complete coffee snob and know just about everything that makes up a good coffee.

Also, my suggestion, if you dont like espresso but need a coffee fix without the milk (soy milk of course) calories….try a syphon. You’ll have to find a Specialty Coffee House near you but syphons are amazing! Its basically just another way of extracting the coffee from the beans- basically a form of distillation. GET ON THAT

Unconventional workout

This little (MASSIVE) beauty is what has been keeping me rather preoccupied the  past two days. Building a huge wardrobe that weighs literally 100X myself was certainly interesting, but i am over the mood with how it looks.

So proud of myself! My muscles have been killing me for the past few days (since i began making it). Seriously, my thighs, chest, arms and shoulders are screaming!!

The best work outs are the ones you never planned to have!

Dessert

You know you’re a complete health nut when you classify a refrigerated apple to be the tastiest/sweetest food you eat……

Perfect way to end  very full on day!- ill fill you guys in later :)

Day 4/64

Time to finally post some of my goals/rules/guidelines that im sticking to religiously for the next 64 days to get myself back on track after my (amazing) holiday away.

1. Only allowing myself to have ONE alcoholic drink a week- must be drunk slowly and mindfully as im a complete light-weight with alcohol and i get drunk off of one beer….

-This is a tough rule to stick to when you live in Melbourne, drinking/getting drunk is so socially acceptable and a lot of my friends work in amazing cocktail bars BUT i was sober for 18 months and i know i can definitely do it!

2. Incorporate even more protein into my ‘diet’- i already eat a fair amount of protein but i was to replace all the starchy carbohydrates in my diet for some wholesome proteins and get my abs back in winning form :P (iv already cut out all breads ect)

3. Add more pilates into my week- i manage to get pilates done 3-4 times a week as it is but i really want to move that up to 4-6 times during the week. I dont own a car and literally walk everywhere, all day, everyday (very active full on job) so the pilates to what keeps me toned and is the only other workout i really need to do. EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT, and this works well for me.

4. This one isn’t entirely about health or ‘diet’ but I need to learn to find balance in my life- I’m a complete workaholic and i love my work so its okay but at the same time a lot of my social life is around work, with parties and events. I need to find that balance between my work (and work social demands) and my own social life with friends and loved ones.

This is no real finish line or prize to be won at the end of this but these are all positive little goals that i will continuously work towards and now is the perfect time to start. Also, if iv been consistent for at least a month I’m going to (FINALLY) get my new tattoo.
